Cornetto Trilogy fans are convinced Hot Fuzz 2 is either happening or should be happening after a recent jokey tease was posted by star Nick Frost on his Instagram.
This comes just over a month after Frost’s co-star Simon Pegg teased a fourth Cornetto movie.
“Edgar [Wright] came over to my house last year and stayed for a week,” he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter last month, adding that it will happen eventually.
“So it really is a question of when, not if.”
As to what the teased Cornetto movie #4 will be about, that’s still unclear.
However, Frost’s latest Instagram post has fans convinced that it may very well be Hot Fuzz 2, a highly demanded sequel to Edgar Wright‘s 2007 action comedy.
Simon Pegg told Movie Web in 2020 that Hot Fuzz is the only Cornetto movie “that lends itself to a sequel” as well as confirming that he would “love to play Nicholas Angel again”.
Now, four years later, Frost may have just cryptically teased that a Hot Fuzz 2 movie is in the works, either that or he’s just having a bit of a laugh or even slyly campaigning for one, who knows!
“He’s back guys!” Frost wrote in his post, referencing his Hot Fuzz character Police Constable Danny Butterman while wearing a police hat in the post’s image.
“Constable Fanny Batterbomb for a second delicious helping of Hot Fuzz!”
“I couldn’t wait to tell you,” he added.
“I hope you all enjoy this first look. Hilarious stuff I’m sure you’ll agree. #hotfuzz”

Fans quickly took to the actor’s comments to petition for a sequel.
“We need a Hot Fuzz sequel. It’s for the ‘greater good’,” one wrote.
“That’s not even funny babe. Teasing us like that. Breaking our hearts here! You don’t know what some of us would do for HF2,” another added.
“Pleeeeease a 2nd Fuzz! Looking well mate too!” a third said.
“Yarp,” a fourth chimed in with.
“For the ‘greater good’,” wrote over one hundred fans agreeing with sequel demands.
