(Gray News) – Dick Van Dyke says he is looking forward to continuing to work in entertainment while making his fans laugh.

Last week, the iconic actor won an award for outstanding variety special at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards for his birthday special “Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic.”

The 98-year-old said he is “looking for work” while also reflecting on his career when he took a few questions at the event.

“For making people laugh for 75 years,” the actor responded to questions about how he would like to be remembered. “I can’t believe that I’m still here and performing.”

People reported that Van Dyke’s award tied him as the oldest winner of a Creative Arts Emmy alongside the late Norman Lear, who won at age 98 in 2020.

While accepting his award, Van Dyke received applause and thanked the audience while even sharing a dance on stage.

In June, Van Dyke also became the oldest Daytime Emmy winner after winning the award for his role as Timothy Robicheaux on “Days of Our Lives.”

Van Dyke has won several Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award and a Tony Award.

His acting credits span decades and many roles from starring in such hits as “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “Mary Poppins.”

Van Dyke shared that he has a lot of stories to share, and he is looking into sharing those with his fans through possibly an upcoming one-man show.
