A devastating loss for Harry and William – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing.

Lord Robert Fellowes, who was a reliable advisor to Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana, passed away at the age of 82.

He had a big connection with the British Royal Family and was the uncle of Prince William and Prince Harry. He was married to Lady Jane Spencer, who was the sister of the late Princess Diana. Together, they had three kids named Alexander, Eleanor, and Laura.

Lord Fellowes was the private secretary for the late Queen in the 1990s, a tough time for the royal family. This was when Princess Diana and Prince Charles got divorced, and Fergie and Prince Andrew also split up. Plus, Princess Anne’s marriage to Mark Phillips ended during this period too.

He played a big role in handling the crisis caused by the fire at Windsor Castle, which burned down 115 rooms in 1992.

Lord Fellowes was in his role when his sister-in-law, Princess Diana, sadly passed away in a car accident. She was in a Mercedes with her partner Dodi Fayed, who was the son of the wealthy Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed. The crash happened in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris while they were trying to get away from the paparazzi, along with her driver Henri Paul and her bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones.

After Diana and Dodi Fayed passed away, Lord Fellowes firmly denied the accusations made by Mohamed Al Fayed, Dodi’s dad and the owner of Harrods. Al Fayed said that Fellowes was involved in a plot to kill the couple, but Fellowes strongly rejected those claims.

Lord Fellowes’ obituary revealed he had died on July 29 of undisclosed causes, as per The Times.

Charles Spencer, Lady Di’s brother, honored his brother-in-law by sharing a heartfelt message on social media.

“My absolutely exceptional brother-in-law, Robert, is no longer with us,” he wrote on X.

“A total gentleman — in all the best meanings of that word — he was a man of humour, wisdom and utter integrity. I’m deeply proud to have been his brother-in-law.”

Lord Fellowes’ dad, Sir William “Billy” Fellowes, worked as the land agent at the Royal Family’s Sandringham Estate for three decades. Interestingly, that’s also where Lord Fellowes was born.

“Robert is the only one of my private secretaries I have held in my arms,” late queen Elizabeth once said, per The Times.

Lord Fellowes was honored with the title of Baron Fellowes of Shotesham in the County of Norfolk.
